Kuwait snatches 43 medals at Arab Junior Swimming Championship

Ammon News - AMMAN (KUNA) Kuwait came in second at the Arab Junior Swimming Championship in Jordan which concluded here late Monday with the Kuwaiti national swimming team winning diverse medals; 14 gold, 15 silver and 14 bronze.

Honorary Chairperson of the Jordanian Swimming Federation Princess Ghaida Talal awarded the Kuwaiti winners at the last day of the championship, organized by the Arab Swimming Confederation, in cooperation with the Jordanian federation, with the participation of swimmers from 14 Arab countries, including 28 Kuwaiti athletes.

Ali Buabbas won the gold medal in the 100m butterfly competition (age 12-13), while Ali Ashkanani won the silver in the 100m butterfly competition (14-15), the team manager, Mousa Boushehri told KUNA.

Abdulrazzaq Al-Dhuwaihi won the silver medal in the 400m freestyle competition (age 12-13), whereas Saud Al-Tayyar won the gold medal in the 400m freestyle tournament (age 16-18).

Mohammad Al-Beshayir won the gold medal, while Abdulaziz Al-Dhuwaihi won the silver in the 200m front crawl tournament (age 12-13).
In the 200m front crawl tournament, Hassan Al-Qallaf won the bronze medal (age 14-15), Ihasan Al-Zaid won the same medal (age 16-18), while Omar Al-Thuwaini won the bronze in the 100m back crawl tournament (age 14-15).

Saleh Hassan, Mohammad Al-Beshayir, Ali Buabbas and Abdulrazzaq Al-Dhuwaihi won gold medals in the 4x100m medley relay (age 12-13), whereas Omar Al-Thuwaini, Mohammad Al-Kandari, Ali Ashkanani, Waleed Al-Abdurazzaq won the silver medal in the same tournament (age 14-15).

In the same competition, Saud Al-Tayyar, Hussain Al-Zaid, Abdullah Mansour Attallah and Mohammad Razouqi won the silver medal (age 16-18).
Swimmers from Kuwait, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon, Oman, Bahrain, Yemen, Qatar, Tunisia, Algeria and Libya of ages from 12-13, 14-15, and 16-18 participated at the championship, which kicked off here last Friday.
