Jordan's Syrian Refugee Affairs spokesman dies in tragic accident, 2 UN staff injured

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Jordan's government spokesperson for Syrian refugee affairs Anmar Hmoud died on late on Sunday night in a tragic car accident in the northern Badia/Rweished region.
Hmoud was killed in the accident that occurred late on Sunday night, and three passengers with him in the vehicle were injured.
Initial reports disclosed that two of the passengers injured are UN staff, one British and another Australian national, and the third was the Jordanian driver of the vehicle.
The medical conditions of the three passengers range between stable and critical, a police source said.
Hmoud was named spokesperson for Syrian refugee camps affairs in Jordan in August 2012 by former Prime Minister Fayez Tarawneh.
He was known for being very resourceful and cooperative with officials and journalists amid the continued daily influx of Syrian refugees into Jordan, who reached over 530,000, the affairs of which Hmoud oversaw on a daily basis.
Hmoud previously served in Jordan's General Intelligence Department, and later served as Jordan's ambassador to China and Lebanon.
