Activists urge authorities to ban imports from Israel

Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra) — The Jordanian Higher Committee to Protect the Homeland and Resist Normalisation on Saturday gathered in front of Amman’s central vegetable market to protest against the import of fruits and vegetables from Israel.

During the protest, activists and members of professional associations and political parties called on authorities to ban imports from Israel, and urged Jordanians to avoid buying any Israeli goods.

Also on Saturday, Deputy Khalil Atiyeh (Amman, 1st District) sent a question to Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, inquiring about the trade volume between Jordan and Israel since the signing of the 1994 Wadi Araba Peace Treaty.
