Ambassadors' swimming pools cost Foreign Ministry JD 107 K

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Jordanian Foreign Ministry spent nearly JD 107,000 on maintenance of swimming pools at residences of Jordanian ambassadors abroad.

A report by the Audit Bureau for 2012 revealed that these amounts are in violation of the government's policy to cut expenditures.

The report also disclosed that other financial violations occurred in Jordanian embassies abroad that were not rectified until now.

The Foreign Ministry's Secretary General and Finance Director signed off on expenditures for lunch and dinner receptions at embassies abroad that were not spent under the diplomatic and foreign relations provisions, the report added.
