Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) on Wednesday referred 20 businesses to the courts over charges of selling dietary supplements not approved by JFDA.
The charges against the businesses also include publishing advertisements and claims about the supplements without getting approved by JFDA.
JFDA on Wednesday said in a press statement that its cadres regularly carries out search and oversight campaigns on products such as dietary supplements and the un-verified claims and advertisements published in media outlets.
The statement added that the Administration will take stern legal measures against violators, stressing its responsibility to ensure that consumers receive factual scientific and medical information about the effectiveness and ingredients of these supplements, Jordan News Agency Petra said.
