Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra) International expert on transparency issues and co-founder of Transparency International Michael J. Hershman has arrived in Amman in response to an invitation from the US Embassy in Jordan.

Hershman, who is also the founder and current CEO of the Fairfax Group, will deliver lectures on the role of the public and private sectors, civil society groups, and the press in the creation and maintenance of a transparent society, according to a press release issued by the embassy.

During his two-day visit to Jordan, Hershman will participate in roundtable discussions with the Ministry of Public Sector Development, the Jordan Strategy Forum, the Jordan Anti-Corruption Commission, and the American Chamber of Commerce in Jordan. He will also discuss transparency issues with local NGO leaders at a talk organized in conjunction with Partners Jordan and will engage with members of the media at a lecture hosted by the Al-Rai Research Center for Journalists.

Hershman is an internationally recognized expert on matters relating to transparency, accountability, governance, litigation, and security.
