Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra) - Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Monday received a copy of the 2012 annual audit report from the President of the Audit Bureau Mustafa Al Barari.
Ensour praised the efforts of the Audit Bureau and its staff in preparing the report, which helps the government in discovering violations and wastes of public money so it might deal with them accordingly.
Furthermore, the prime minister commended the Bureau's efforts, which resulted in a direct saving for the states treasury of JD62.8million for 2012.
He asked Al Barari to publish this report on the websites of the Audit Bureau and the Prime Ministry to encourage transparency and inform the public about the report.
Ensour urged ministries and government departments to full cooperation with the Bureau to tackle and correct remarks included in the report, which protects public money from waste and provides a positive reflection on improving government performance and decreasing public spending.
He reiterated the government's support for the Bureau, pointing to the amendment on the Bureau's law which has been sent to the Lower House and will enhance the financial and administrative independence and regulatory role of the Bureau. Copies of the Bureau's report have been submitted to the speakers of the Upper and Lower Houses of Parliament, in accordance with the Jordanian constitution.
