Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A Royal Decree was issued on Wednesday appointing Ahmad Ayed Sweilmyeen as Chief of the Gendarmerie Forces.

The Royal Decree promoted Sweilmyeen to the rank of Major General.

Major General Sweilmyeen previously held the position of head of the Military Police Forces.

The position of Chief of the Gendarmerie forces has been vacant since the Council of Minister appointed earlier in April Lt General Tawfiq Tawalbeh to head the Public Security Department, succeeding General Hussein Majali who was appointed Minister of Interior.
