Ammon News - RAMTHA (Petra) - President of Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) Abdullah Malkawi on Monday met with a delegation from Perth College of UK to discuss cooperation in establishing a joint educational course in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME).
Malkawi said the setting up of technical courses that focus on practical experience has become an urgent need for Jordan in order for it to supply the local and Arab market with highly qualified workers.
Head of Aeronautical Engineering Department of the university, Firas Darwish, said the university had previously signed a memorandum of understanding with the British College, under which students are enrolled in a two-year course on aircraft maintenance engineering.
The admission of the first batch of students is expected to take place in October, and both Jordanian and non-Jordanian students are eligible to apply.
