Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Member of Parliament Yahya Saud stressed on Wednesday that the parliamentary motion to censure confidence against the government over its request to oust the Israeli ambassador in Amman and recall Jordan's ambassador from Tel Aviv is "still standing."

87 deputies had signed a petition earlier in the week threatening to the vote-of-confidence it granted the government of Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour last month over what they considered as "stalling" on the part of the government in responding to the Lower House's call to expel the Israeli Ambassador from the kingdom.

The Lower House voted unanimously last week to request from the government to expel Israel's ambassador in Amman Daniel Nevo, and recall Jordan's ambassador in Tel Aviv Walid Obeidat in objection to continued Israeli violations in occupied Jerusalem and Al Aqsa Mosque.

Despite several MPs' withdrawal from the motion, which enjoys a majority among the 150-strong Lower House, MP Yahya Saud who adopted the motion stressed that it is still on the table.

The MP denied media reports that he withdrew the motion back from House Speaker Saad Hayel Srour.
Saud noted that MPs will hold a meeting on Sunday to coordinate efforts on the contents of the motion which calls for dropping the confidence vote.

Jordan officially confirmed on Wednesday that Israeli envoy Daniel Nevo indeed left the kingdom after he was summoned by the Jordanian Foreign Ministry to relay a "strongly-worded message" of Jordan's condemnation of escalating Israeli violations against al-Aqsa Mosque and holy sites in occupied Jerusalem, according to the government.

Government spokesperson Mohammad Momani said during a press conference on Wednesday that Nevo left the kingdom following his meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister and Interior Minister Hussein Majali last Wednesday.
