Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra)--The Senate has condemned the repeated Israeli attacks on Syria, the last of which was an air strike on a military complex near the Syrian capital Damascus this past weekend.

Acting Senate President Marwan Hmoud said such aggression will drag the region into more violence that will reflect negatively on the Middle East, threaten its peace and security and have adverse repercussions on surrounding countries and their people.

Further, Hmoud called for an end to such attacks, adding that the Senate supports the wise policies of His Majesty King Abdullah II towards the situation in Syria, which seeks a political solution to the crisis and taking further steps to end the bloodshed and fighting, which has been ongoing for two years.
