Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Wael Al Jaraisheh - Over 80 members of the Lower House of Parliament on Sunday signed a petition calling on Parliament to officially denounce the Israeli attack on Syria earlier on Sunday.
During a parliamentary session dedicated to discuss university violence, MPs voiced their demand to have parliament officially denounce the Israeli airstrikes on Syria on Friday, and again before dawn on Sunday. The MPs submitted the official petition to Lower House Speaker Saad Hayel Srour.
No official reaction has been voiced by the Jordanian government until now.
The Arab League had called on the UN Security Council on Sunday to take measures to stop Israeli attacks on Syria.
Arab League Secretary General Nabil Arabi denounced on Sunday the attacks, and warned of dangerous repercussions of Israeli military actions against Syria.
Heavy explosions had shaken Damascus early on Sunday, with Syrian authorities blaming Isreal for the strikes.
Israeli rockets reportedly struck a military research center on the outskirts of the capital in Jamraya, a target of an earlier Israeli strike in January, Reuters reported.
Earlier On Friday, israel carried out an air strike into Syria, reportedly targeting a shipment of missiles bound for Hezbollah in neighboring Lebanon.
