Jordan's energy bill drops 20.9% on decline in oil imports

Ammon News - Ammon -(Petra) - Jordan's energy bill dropped by 20.9 per cent in the first two months of 2013, reaching JD650.5 million ($918.5 million).

The is attributed to a significant decline in imports of crude oil.

The Kingdom's imports of crude oil dropped to JD257.3 million ($362.8 million) compared to JD418.9 million ($591.5 million) in the same period of 2012, according to Department of Statistics (DoS) figures.

Further, energy imports stood at 27 per cent of the Kingdom's total imports of JD2.4 billion ($3.4 billion).
