King donates JD 1 mil, orders plan to develop ESARSV

Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra)--On the occasion of the National Veteran Day, which falls on Friday, His Majesty King Abdullah II instructed the government to draft a comprehensive plan to develop the Economic Social Association of Retired Servicemen and Veterans (ESARSV), and improve its performance and services it offers.

The step aims to reach out to all servicemen, develop their training and employment services, and restructure investment activities to ensure sustainability of the ESARSV's financial resources.

His Majesty also donated JD1 million to support the Social Solidarity Fund for the retired servicemen as part of his keenness to improves their living conditions and those of their families.

Last year, King Abdullah directed the government to announce February 15th as national Veterans Day in recognition of retired servicemen of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) who fought in battles to defend the nation.
