Voting extended an extra hour to manage voter turnout

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Independent Elections Commission (IEC) announced extending polling stations' hours throughout the kingdom on Wednesday by one extra hour to facilitate the increased voter turnout in the evening hours, Ammon News learned.

IEC spokesperson Hussein Bani Hani later announced in press statement the decision to extend the voting station hours considering the increased voter turnout and long lines at various voting stations.

Polling stations will now be open until 8:00 PM instead of the scheduled 7:00 pm closing.

Bani Hani added that voting stations will close their doors after all voters in queue are able to cast their ballots.

Ammon News correspondent Mohammad Habahbeh reported from the media center set up at the Royal Cultural Center to monitor the elections.
