Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra)Jordan ranked first in the region and fifth globally as a medical tourism destination, according to Director of Hospitals Management Directorate at the Health Ministry Ahmed Qutaitat.

In remarks during the Scientific Days Forum of the Jordanian Physiotherapy Society on Friday, Qutaitat outlined directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II to develop the health sector in Jordan, noting efforts of the Health Ministry to improve skills of its cadre, especially in physiotherapy field. The high quality of Jordan’s healthcare services and facilities are among the reasons that helped the country become one of the most popular medical tourism destinations in the world.
