UNHCR mourns seven Syrian refugees who died in fire in Jordan

New York (Petra) – The UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) has expressed sadness over the death of seven Syrian refugees, who died when their temporary housing caught fire on Wednesday night at the King Abdullah Gardens refugee camp in Ramtha.

The victims, all members of the same family, had been sleeping in prefabricated housing at the King Abdullah Gardens refugee camp, which is home to 900 Syrian refugees, the UNHCR said, describing the loss as "heartbreaking" for the humanitarian community in Jordan.
