Jordan Govt to establish Syrian refugees affairs administration

Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra) The government on Tuesday decided to set up an interior ministry-affliated administration to run the affairs of Syrian refugees to coordinate work at the camps and oversee the establishment of other camps to cater for further influx of refugees.

The cabinet decided to appoint Public Security Department Assistant Director-General, Maj. Gen Mohammad al-Zawahreh, as director of the new body which will also be tasked with receiving and distributing humanitarian assistance.

The decision will be effective as of Monday.
