AMMONNEWS - Ten day-laborers were poisoned as a result of inhaling toxic pesticides as they were treating plants within the Hashemite University campus. They were later transferred to Qasr Aljabeel Hospital and the Zarqa State Hospital.

The day laborers were using pesticides six years past their expiration date, a university source told Ammon News.

The laborers have been demanding increased safety and precaution measures for pesticide usage, however, the university has not yet responded to the laborers' requests.

Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Yousef Eleimat denied the incident although the emergency unit of the Qasr Aljabeel Hospital confirmed registering 6 cases of agricultural laborers suffering from poisoning in the Hashemite University, in Zarqa governorate.
