National Current Party Adopts 'Camel' as List Symbol

AMMONNEWS - The National Current political party announced adopting the 'Camel' as the symbol of its national list for the upcoming parliamentary elections to be held on January 23rd, 2013.

In a meeting held Tuesday headed by party President and former House Speaker Abdul Hadi al Majali, the party adopted the symbol of the camel "for what it represents of the ability for patience, continuous giving and service to the country, perseverance, facing obstacles and enduring difficulties."

In a statement during the meeting, Majali stressed that the upcoming phase is one of "real transformation in the life of the nation and history of Jordan, to enhance democracy on the basis of the people as the source of powers."

The executive office of the party had deliberated on the symbol for its candidates' list two weeks ago, and announced adopting it on Tuesday.
