Jordanian PM Meets Iranian Road Minister in Amman

Ammon News - ammonnews - The Prime Minister Abdullah Nsour and other high-ranking officials held meetings with Iranian Minister of Road and Urbanization Ali Nikzad in the capital city of Amman, Fars News Agency reported.

Nikzad arrived in Amman Tuesday and held talks with his Jordanian counterpart Yahya al-Kasby who hoped that Iran-Jordan ties will further improve.

Nikzad invited Ensour to visit Iran, and described Jordan as a friendly country. He further noted that the two countries can undertake great jobs in cooperation with each other.

Nikzad also conferred with the Jordanian minister of commerce and communications.

During the talks, he called for activation of joint economic commission.

In a meeting with Nsour, he said that Iran has made remarkable progress in various fields such as cement and steel production, dam construction and other industries, despite the extensive sanctions imposed on the country.

Reiterating the significance of holding joint commission meeting between Iran and Jordan, he also proposed that a Jordan delegation visit Iran in a bid to promote bilateral ties in the fields of energy and transportation the Iranian official Agency added.

Nsour, for his part, said that Iran and Jordan share numerous commonalities and Iran has made considerable achievements.

He also praised Iran's stance on promotion of Palestine's status in the UN as an observe government and said that Palestine has a special priority in his country's foreign policy.
