Ammon News - Spanish musical ‘El Ultimo Jinete’ (The Last Horseman) took audiences in a magical adventure centuries back from the deserts of the Middle East to Victorian England on Wednesday, in Teatro del Canal, Madrid Spain.

Spain’s Queen Sophia and Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Defense Minister Prince Khaled bin Sultan were one of the many special guests to enjoy ‘El Ultimo Jinete’ produced by Spanish novelist, Andres Vicente Gomez with the book written by Ray Loriga.

Gomez co-produced ‘El Ultimo Jinete’ in collaboration with John Cameron composer of ‘Les Miserables’.

“Our presence here tonight is to express through this play, our love and admiration towards the horses. Tonight, it is the horses’ night especially the Arabian ones. This play is based on a true story, narrating how the horses moved from the Arabian Peninsula to other regions,” said bin Sultan.

The cultural play narrates the significant role of Arabian horses in the history of Arabs and provides a historical background of the unification of Saudi Arabia led by king Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al-Saud.

The musical has been highly praised by the critics.

After its success in Madrid, the ‘El Ultimo Jinete’ will tour many other capitals starting London and then Paris.
