Jordanian Soldier Injured in Syrian Border Shelling

Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra) An official source at the Jordan Armed Forces announced on Friday that a number of shells and bullets landed on Jordanian territory due to heavy clashes between the Syrian government forces and the opposition forces on the Syrian side of the borders, near Tal Shehab area, injuring a Jordanian soldier.

The soldier, Udai Hussein Momani, was taken to the hospital and is now in good condition, the source said.

The Jordanian armed forces practiced self-restraint over the past period and did not interfere in what is happening in Syria despite some shells that landed on our territory, the source said, noting that ''In light of our right to protect our territory, property and border, the Jordan armed forces made ''an appropriate response'' to sources of the shelling, and we will not hesitate in the future to take all suitable measures to defend our border and property''.
