An Egyptian woman took on a one-woman mission in the hope to promote peace in the Arab world, the UAE-based 7days newspaper reported.

The woman, Raghda Yusuf, a Dubai resident, plans to visit 22 countries in the Arab world to convey her message.

“Arab people should be standing together, particularly at this uncertain time,” said Yusuf.

“I want to make peace between all the Arab countries, especially after all the revolutions taking place,” she added.

According to 7days, the 26-year-old left her home town, Cairo, following the uprising which began Jan. 25, 2011. Yusuf had to leave her job in the hotel industry due to unrest caused by revolution. She now has planned to travel to tourist hotspot Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt, after a visit to Jordan.

“Egypt is so dangerous now it’s hard to predict where it is going, I wasn’t a supporter of the new president [Mohammed] Mursi,” Yusuf said.

After revisiting her home country, Yusuf plans to visit Oman, Yemen, Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait - by mid-2013, according to 7days. She also plans to apply for a travel visa to visit war-torn Syria.

“I will write a blog, in the name of Bint Battuta - in honour of the great traveler Ibn Battuta,” Yusuf said, in reference to the 14th century Islamic scholar and traveler from Tangier, Morocco.

Yusuf hopes her mission will “encourage Arab women to travel and get out of their shell to see the world,” she added.

“I was offered the chance to come to Dubai and took it. Now Dubai is my base for traveling,” Yusuf said.
