Five Jordanians, including one member of the Salafi Jihadi current, were arrested on Wednesday, a Jordanian security source told UPI. Authorities seized quantities of weapons and ammunition that was in the group's possession, and allegedly had attempted to smuggle them into Syria. The source added that one member of the group had been previously charged by the State Security Court in 2007 with conspiracy to carry out terror attacks, and was sentenced to 15 years in prison. The man was released after five years in a special pardon.

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Jordanian security authorities arrested a group of Jordanians while they were attempting to infiltrate into Syria carrying weapons.

Five Jordanians, including one member of the Salafi Jihadi current, were arrested on Wednesday, a Jordanian security source told UPI.

Authorities seized quantities of weapons and ammunition that was in the group's possession, and allegedly had attempted to smuggle them into Syria.
