Police prevent protesters from reaching Prime Ministry

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Police on Monday prevented the 'Professional Associations' protesters from reaching the forth circle where they planned to hold a sit-in in front the Prime Ministry office.

Professional Association had called for a general strike in protest of the government's economic policies, and recent decision to lift subsidies on oil derivatives, which caused a major hike n prices.

The protesters marched form the Professional Associations complex in Shmaisani toward the fourth circle where they were prevented by Gendarmerie and Security forces.

The streets which lead to the fourth circle witnessed a heavy traffic jam, according to Ammon News correspondent there.
