SOS children’s villages subject to investigation

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS—The investigative and evaluation committee submitted today its final report to the minister of social development , Wajeeh Azaizeh, over violation in the SOS children villages in Jordan.

The committee which was formed by the ministry of social development, to look into violation , and injustices that might be prevailed within the villages, recommended that the villages administrators be sent to the court.

The report found out that both the ministry and the villages administrators are held accountable and responsible morally and legally , for all illegal acts as well as for the absence of supervision and control within the villages .

The committee conducted several surprising visits to the children’s villages in Amman ,Irbid, and Aqaba ,over the past two weeks .Also , many hearing sessions were held with people and witnesses , involved with the villages to verify the allegations and accusations in this regard.

Convention on the rights of the children says : “ In the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the United Nations has proclaimed that childhood is entitled to special care and assistance ”
