Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Ernst & Young Jordan announced its sponsorship of the first comprehensive one‐day annual conference organized by the Jordan Association of Management Accountants’ (JAMA). Entitled ‘Step Into the Future’ and held on Saturday 24th March, 2012, at the InterContinental Hotel in Amman, the Conference brought together Jordan’s leading accountants, finance managers and CFOs to discuss the accounting field’s most pressing obstacles and challenges.

During the Conference, attendees shared opinions and exchanged expertise with leading Jordanian and international industry professionals. They discussed latest trends, adaptive skills and advanced technologies that can assist accountants in overcoming current challenges and stepping into their greater role, hence, catapulting themselves, their companies and their profession to new heights.

Delivering a presentation, entitled Developing CFOs of the Future, Ernst & Young Partner Mohammad AI-Karaki spoke about the future role of CFOs, the importance of developing key areas of experience in order to become a CFO and the critical area of talent management and succession planning within this role.

“The financial landscapes around us are making the role of the CFO and the expectations of him evermore demanding. We are seeing gaps in financial talent across many industries and we believe that it is essential for individuals within the industry to be more involved in their own development,” said Al-Karaki.

The one-day Conference also comprised three workshop sessions on Financial Leadership, The Peoples’ Equation and Confidence in Boardrooms. Each workshop highlighted the different aspects related to becoming a successful financial leader and ultimately advancing Jordan’s financial landscape.
