Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Iraq's National Football team beat Jordan 3-1 in a match played Tuesday evening at the Amman International Stadium in their fifth match in Round 3, Group A World Cup qualifiers.
Jordan scored its lone goal in the first half of the match, while Iraq scored three goals against Jordan in the second half.
Jordan's Hassan Abdul Fattah scored a goal for Jordan in the 16th minute of the first half of the match, while Iraq's Nash'at Akram scored the tying goal for his team in the 56th minute.
Akram's comrade Iraq's Qusai Muneer scored a second goal against their hosts in the minute 66 of the second half, followed by Iraq's third goal in the 80th minute scored again by Nash'at Akram.
The Kingdom’s squad beat Singapore 2-0 to score their fourth consecutive win on Friday and booked a place in the final stage ahead of the World Cup finals in Brazil.
Jordan still has a match against China on February 29, 2012, but have qualified to be among the continent’s final 10 countries for the first time since taking part in the qualifiers in 1985 after an unbeaten run which included wins over Singapore 3-0, Iraq 2-1 and China 2-0 in Leg 1.
