15 MPs will not give confidence vote to new Gov’t

AMMONNEWS – 15 Members of Parliament said that they will not give a confidence vote to the new government, parliamentary sources told Ammon News.

The 15 lawmakers members of the 23-member ‘Future’ (Al Mustaqbal) parliamentary bloc who voiced criticism over the formation of the new cabinet, particularly ministers appointed to economic and financial sectors, the source added.

The parliamentary bloc will hold a meeting on Tuesday afternoon to further deliberate on their position.

King Abdullah II had appointed Awn Al Khasawneh as Prime Minister on October 17, 2011 after sacking former Prime Minister Marouf Bakhiti's government, whose government received a 63 vote-of-confidence out of a total of 120 from the parliamentary council following popular discontent and successive demonstrations calling for toppling Bakhit and his government.
