Jordan/Hajj 2011: First group of Jordanian pilgrims head to Saudi Arabia

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - -The first group of pilgrims will leave for Saudi Arabia on Wednesday while more groups will follow later, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Abdul Rahim Okour said.

The minister told Petra that arrangements for this year’s Hajj (pilgrimage) season is in line with a plan put by the ministry, noting that all pilgrims who were born in 1948 and under and acquired Hajj permits, will be able to perform pilgrimage.

The minister valued efforts taken by the Saudi Consulate in Amman to grant visas to Jordanians for the journey of faith.
