Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - In an effort to raise spirits and alleviate the heavy burden of treatment on cancer patients, HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF), handed out gifts to all young patients receiving treatment at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC).
The ceremony to mark the feast of Eid Al-Fitr was held in the presence of HRH Princess Dina Mired, Director General of KHCF, and Dr. Mahmoud Sarhan, Director General of KHCC.
The annual gift distribution ceremony stemmed from the belief that granting presents to young patients and drawing smiles on their faces is a very important factor to their healing process, and constitutes an integral part in the psychological and spiritual support they need through the different treatment stages.
Princess Ghida was briefed by the doctors supervising the pediatric patients about their health condition and progress of treatment.
She expressed appreciation of the efforts of all KHCC doctors and employees, and added: "The children are always on our minds at KHCF and KHCC. We always try to alleviate their suffering by creating various entertaining activities for them such as our own "Dreams Come True" program which aims to fulfill as many of our young patients dreams as possible. This is in addition to arranging different entertaining activities and distributing gifts to the children during all religious, national and social occasions." The children and their parents thanked Princesses Ghida and Dina for this kind gesture and visit which filled the patients' hearts with joy.
