Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Minister of Political Development, Musa al-Ma'tiya has said that no decision is taken by the government without listening to the opinions and suggestions about constitutional amendments.
The minister confirmed to Ammon News that the government has no intention of disregarding any suggestion, and he stressed that the government has its doors open to hear all views in the field regarding the constitutional amendments.
al-Ma'tiya revealed that many proposals have been sent to the government regarding the recommendations of the Royal Committee for Constitutional Amendments, and he clarified that the decision is left to the Council of Ministers to deliberate over after the Legislative and opinion Bureau (Diwan) has approved drafts laws so that they are presented to the Council to approve and then send to the Lower House.
He indicated that the Council of Ministers can amend, add to and change the recommendations made to them but when they are sent to the Lower House of Parliament, the Lower House has authority only relation to the articles to which amendments are proposed.
