Jordanian-British factory for digital counters opens

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Jordanian-British Company for Electric Industries (JBCEI) on Tuesday opened an electronic electricity gauges factory in the southern city of Maan.

British Ambassador to Jordan Peter Millett said he was glad to attend the opening of the factory, which will jobs and support economic development in the area.

Millett said the factory is a practical evidence for economic reform, noting the role of UK Embassy's trade and investment unit in the launch of this project.

The factory is a joint venture between Ahmed Abu Tair for Electrical Works and UK-based KIGG Limited.

CEO of KIGG Ltd Lyndon Harfoot underlined the importance of the project in supporting electricity sector in Jordan.

Director of the JBCEI Abdul Rahman Abu Tair said the company would serve as an operations center to develop electronic industries as well as a research center for Middle East and North Africa MENA region.
