AMMONNEWS - Deputy-elect Muhammad Shawabkeh, representing Madaba governorate, denied any affiliation with the National Current Party (Hizb Al Tayyar Al Watani).
Shawabkeh told Ammon News that he was never a member of NCP, and is not currently a member, stressing that he is an independent member of parliament.
Five other deputy-elects also denied being members of NCP, including Muhammad Radaydeh, Muhammad Zreiqat, Wasfi Al Sarhan, Ibrahim Shdeifat, and Sami Al Hasanat.
The deputy-elects' denial comes following media reports leaked by sources closed to the political party stating that a number of deputy-elects are representing NCP in the 16th parliament.
NCP, headed by Senator and former House Speaker Abdul Hadi Al Majali, had previously announced a public list of candidates running with NCP, yet noting that other members are also running with NCP but their names were not publicized.
