An informed source said that the civilians killed in a Jordanian airstrike in southern Syria on Monday evening were staying in a tent near a terrorist target being engaged by the Jordanian Armed Forces.

The source stressed that the tent was not a target and had not been directly targeted, and it also avoided many locations where attacks could have resulted in civilian casualties.

The source explained that the mother of one of the terrorists and his three nephews were staying in a tent near the hiding place of a member of Daesh terrorist group, who was concealed inside a small concrete building close to his mother.

The airstrike targeted the concrete building, killing the terrorist, while the force of the blast affected those inside the tent, resulting in their deaths, the source noted.
