Ammon News - A mild, humid air mass will bring a noticeable drop in temperatures across Jordan on Thursday, with pleasant autumn conditions settling over much of the country and light morning showers possible in parts of the north and centre, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.
The change will bring cooler weather to the highlands and plains, while moderate conditions prevail elsewhere. Clouds at varying altitudes are expected throughout the day, with a chance of brief, light showers in limited parts of northern and west-central Jordan during the morning.
Moderate westerly winds will become active at times, raising dust and reducing visibility, particularly across the Badia.
The department warned motorists of reduced visibility due to early-morning fog over high mountain areas and dust in desert regions. It also cautioned against slippery roads in areas receiving rainfall.
Thursday's temperatures are forecast to reach 26 degrees Celsius in East Amman and 24 C in West Amman, with highs of 21 C in the northern highlands and 22 C in the Sharah highlands.
Temperatures will reach 25 C across the plains and 28 C in the Badia, compared with 30 C in the northern Jordan Valley, 32 C in the southern Jordan Valley and Aqaba, and 31 C at the Dead Sea.
The cooler conditions will continue on Friday, with pleasant weather in the highlands and plains and moderate temperatures elsewhere. A slight chance of light morning showers remains in limited parts of northern Jordan.
Similar autumn weather is expected on Saturday, with clouds at varying altitudes and moderate westerly winds.
Temperatures will edge higher on Sunday, although pleasant conditions will persist in the high mountain areas and moderate weather will prevail across the rest of the country, accompanied by clouds and moderate northwesterly winds.
