Ammon News - The Eastern Military Zone foiled two attempts to smuggle a large quantity of narcotics using guided balloons early Wednesday, after detecting them as they attempted to cross the border into Jordanian territory.

Border Guard units detected and intercepted the balloons within their area of responsibility and brought them down inside Jordanian territory. The narcotics carried by the balloons were seized in coordination with security and military agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department.

The seized items were referred to the relevant authorities to take the necessary legal measures.

The Jordanian Armed Forces reaffirmed the readiness of Border Guard units to confront infiltration and smuggling attempts efficiently and decisively to protect the country's security and stability.
