Ammon News - An international joint humanitarian aid convoy arrived in the sisterly Lebanese Republic from Jordan on Thursday, carrying food supplies, tents, and essential relief items.

The convoy consisted of 19 trucks, with participation from 10 friendly countries and the European Union alongside Jordan, according to the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO).

Jordan had previously sent 40 trucks over the past weeks to support Lebanon in response to the humanitarian situation there.

The JHCO stated that this effort to support Lebanon came under royal directives and is being implemented in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, and in close cooperation with the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army.

Countries participating in this relief effort included Switzerland, Australia, Canada, Romania, the European Union, Portugal, Germany, Singapore, Luxembourg, Spain, and the Netherlands, in addition to Jordan.

JHCO's Secretary-General, Hussein Shibli, affirmed that this move aims to ensure the efficient and rapid delivery of aid in line with the highest humanitarian standards.

He stressed that the convoy reinforces the pivotal role played by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan as a regional hub for humanitarian work and a trusted center for coordinating international efforts, enhancing the impact of humanitarian and relief responses and reflecting the high level of international confidence in the organization as a coordination and logistics platform.

Shibli added that the JHCO will continue to strengthen its international partnerships and expand its humanitarian response in line with growing needs, translating Jordan’s firm commitment to supporting brotherly nations under all circumstances. He also expressed thanks to the Syrian Arab Republic for facilitating the convoy’s passage through its territory.
