23-04-2026 03:38 PM

Ammon News - Jordan is expected to be affected by a warm air mass over the weekend, with forecasts indicating relatively hot conditions in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.

Weather maps show a rise in temperatures on Friday and Saturday, with highs exceeding the mid-20s Celsius in many Jordanian towns and cities, and reaching around 30°C in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.

Sea surface temperatures in the Gulf of Aqaba are expected to reach 25°C, while ranging between 25–27°C in the Dead Sea, making the weather suitable for swimming trips in the Kingdom’s low-lying areas.

For its part, the Public Security Directorate (PSD) stressed the importance of maintaining cleanliness in public places during outings, and avoiding negative behaviors observed during the previous weekend, particularly littering and lighting fires in undesignated areas, emphasizing the need to keep recreational sites clean.

It added that personnel from the Royal Department for Environmental Protection recorded a notable number of environmental violations in parks and tourist and archaeological sites, and that legal measures have been taken against violators, alongside cleanup campaigns carried out by municipalities and the Greater Amman Municipality to remove waste left behind by visitors.

At the same time, the PSD commended many citizens who demonstrated a high level of awareness and responsibility in preserving the environment, affirming that such cooperation is key to protecting the beauty of nature and ensuring its sustainability for all.
