Over 43,000 Americans have left Middle East since war’s start

11-03-2026 10:43 AM

Ammon News - More than 43,000 American citizens have left the Middle East since the start of the war, State Department spokesman Dylan Johnson said Tuesday.

The State Department has chartered more than two dozen flights for American citizens since Feb. 28, he said.

Many citizens returned to the U.S. on commercial flights; chartered flights from the State Department were less than 40% full on average, Johnson said. The State Department is still chartering flights and organizing ground transportation for Americans, he said.
