Ammon News - Gaza's Hamas-run health ministry said Israeli strikes killed at least 66 people and injured over 250 since yesterday morning.
Dr Muhammad Abu Salmiya, the director of Al Shifa Hospital, told our US partner network NBC News that the bodies of 54 people had been brought to hospitals across Gaza since Saturday morning, including 45 in Gaza City.
He said some were killed in ongoing strikes, while others were shot as they tried to return to their homes in conflict areas or as they waited for aid.
It comes despite calls from US President Donald Trump on Israel to "stop bombing" in order to facilitate the peaceful handover of hostages.
Yesterday, the Israeli Defence Forces was reported to have switched to defensive manoeuvres in Gaza City, though it still warned civilians to keep away from the area, which it remains to designate a combat zone.
