Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A young man was killed late Wednesday night and four others were injured in clashes that erupted in the southern city of Karak.

A security source told Ammon News that the young man died of injuries he sustained during clashes between two groups that extended to neighboring towns.

Riots erupted in the aftermath of the death, with young men setting ablaze a local shop, a police kiosk in downtown Karak, and a ground apartment in a residential building.

Public Security personnel evacuated families from the building and heavy security presence was dispatched to the area to contain the clashes, a security source from Karak added.
