Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Police in the southern city of Karak on Thursday apprehended two men who broke into a jewellery store, stole two kilograms of gold and fled in a car.

A Public Security Department statement said that upon notification of the robbery in the Karak commercial district at dawn, police promptly sealed off roads and erected checkpoints on main entrances to the city to track down the robbers.

But only after half an hour, it said, a police patrol stopped a suspicious vehicle heading out of the city and found two people inside who had a criminal police record with the amount of gold in their possession as well as sharp objects.
