Jordanian teacher shortlisted for Global Teacher Prize

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Jordanian teacher Sahar Fayyad is among 50 teachers from 37 countries nominated to win the Global Teacher Prize, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Saturday.

The winner will be announced during the Global Education and Skills Forum which will be held in Dubai in March. A total of 20,000 teachers applied for the prize from 179 countries, Petra added.

Fayyad, who teaches at Um Manih elementary school, won the Queen Rania Award for Excellence in Education in 2009 for her use of technology to communicate with her students and their parents and for integrating Syrian students in the classroom.
