The drugs, which had come from Syria, were bound for the Jordanian coastal town of Aqaba. Police have opened an investigation into the incident. Lebanese authorities have foiled several attempts over the last few months to smuggle drugs into or through Lebanon, especially through Beirut’s airport. On many occasions, investigations with arrested individuals that the drugs come from South American countries and are bound for Gulf Arab states. Separately, General Security officers arrested Fadi S. at the Tripoli Port over charges of transporting weapons, and handed him over to the Mina police station in the city. *Daily Star

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Customs agents at the Tripoli port in north Lebanon foiled an attempt to smuggle to Jordan a large quantity of Captagon pills on Thursday.

The drugs, which had come from Syria, were bound for the Jordanian coastal town of Aqaba.

Police have opened an investigation into the incident.

Lebanese authorities have foiled several attempts over the last few months to smuggle drugs into or through Lebanon, especially through Beirut’s airport.

On many occasions, investigations with arrested individuals that the drugs come from South American countries and are bound for Gulf Arab states.
