Foreign Minister angered by Knesset's proposal

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Mohammad Saleh - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Nasser Judeh said that no one in Israel can end Jordan's supervision over the sacred sites in Jerusalem.

"Neither a member of Knesset nor thousand of Knesset members can end Jordanian supervision on Islamic and Christian shrines in Jerusalem".

Jude asked, during Tuesday's parliamentary session, the head of Israeli parliament to withdraw the proposal which was submitted by a Knesset member.

Moshe Feiglin, an Israeli legislator from Likud party,on Monday withdrew a proposal to bring Al-Aqsa Mosque, Islam's third holiest shrine, under Israeli supervision.


He said that" Hashemite family has historical supervisory role over Muslim and Christian holy sites in east Jerusalem, which was recognized by the pope and religions figures around the world.

" The unified position of Jordan forced Israel to withdraw the proposed bill." He added.
