Serbia recovered from a tough double-overtime, one-point loss to Germany to beat Jordan 112-69 at the Basketball World Championships.

Serbia used its height to dominate inside and all 11 of its eligible players scored. Centre Nenad Krstic was sitting out the last of his three-game suspension for a pre-tournament brawl in Greece but guard Milos Teodosic returned Monday with seven points and seven assists.

Dusko Savanovic and Marko Keselj led Serbia (2-1) with 21 points each and centre Kosta Perovic added 20. Osama Daghles had 19 points for Jordan (0-3).

The Kingdom lost to Australia (75-74) and Angola (79-65) in games one and two respectively. Jordan will play Argentina on September 1, and Germany on September 2.

Other Group A matches to be played late Monday were Australia versus Germany, and Angola against Argentina.

In the other early match on Monday, Slovenia beat Croatia 91-84 in Group B.

Other Group B matches expected to be played late were Tunisia against Iran, and the US versus Brazil. In late matches on Sunday, Argentina beat Australia 74-72 in a Group A match.

In Group B, Brazil defeated Tunisia 80-65.

In Group C, Turkey beat Russia 65-56.

In Group D, Spain overcame New Zealand 101-84.

The event features 24 teams, playing 80 games in four cities. The top four teams from each of the four groups will move to the knockout second round. The quarters are set for September 8-9, the semis for September 10-11 and the final on September 12.
