Tamweelcom Organizes Souk Ayyadi Bazaars

The Jordan Micro Credit Company (Tamweelcom) is organizing the 18th Souk Ayyadi Bazaar in Abdoun Mall and the 19th Souk Ayyadi Bazaar in Sweifieh Mall. For the first time, these two bazaars are being organized together, during the Holy Month of Ramadan. Both bazaars are being held from August 19th through the third day of Eid Al-Fitr.

Souk Ayyadi Bazaars are one component of the Tamweelcom non-financial services; established to provide the micro-entrepreneurs a retail venue to promote the marketing and sales of their products. The bazaars present a wealth of products, including: food; handmade, embroidered clothing and accessories; pottery; interior décor; and straw, sand and (coffee) mug artistry.

Tamweelcom CEO, Mr. Ziad Al-Refai says, “The Company endeavors to organize the bazaars and involve its clients in these activities aims to break the links between productive-poor and end consumers.”

Mr. Al-Refai added that holding the two bazaars, at the same time, helps the Tamweelcom clients benefit financially, especially leading up to Eid Al-Fitr. The integrated services of training, financing and marketing, that are offered, free, by the Company to its clientele, are designed to a success-oriented work environment for the micro-entrepreneur. The Company is committed to helping the productive-poor improve their standard of living and social circumstances with the successful execution of their projects. All of these services are born of the Company conviction in its mission of social responsibility.

Tamweelcom is a non-profit company, pioneering the field of microfinance in Jordan. It was established to fight poverty and unemployment. Tamweelcom was founded in 1999; and is owned by the Noor Al-Hussein Foundation (King Hussein Foundation). More than 142,315 projects have been financed, using more than JD66 million, 96% of the projects have been owned by women.
