| AMMAN Jordan Chamber of Commerce Vice President Issa Murad on Thursday discussed with United Arab Emirates (UAE) ambassador, Abdullah Amri, the prospect of launching a joint business council between the private sector in the two countries. The two sides also tackled ways to increase trade exchange, which stood at $534 million in 2009. Murad said that the council's task will be to link business communities in both countries and remove obstacles to broader economic and trade cooperation, calling on UAE businessmen to further invest in the kingdom and benefit from an investor-friendly investment climate and updated economic legislations. The envoy stressed the close ties between the two countries, adding that the UAE had a keen interest in further boosting economic and trade ties with Jordan. *Petra |
